# Terms of Service

> ruoli Terms of Service and usage agreement

These Terms of Service form the agreement between you and ruoli ([ruoli.dev](https://ruoli.dev)) regarding your use of the API and related tools. By using the service, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms.

**Effective date: June 21, 2026**

## The service

ruoli is an AI model API gateway: it forwards your requests to upstream model providers and returns the results. Actual features, available models, and pricing are subject to what the platform provides.

## Content and ownership

* You retain all rights to your input.
* Subject to these terms, you own the output returned by the service.
* ruoli does not use your input or output to train models.

## Data and privacy

ruoli processes your data in accordance with its privacy policy, only as necessary to provide and maintain the service.

## Acceptable use

* You must comply with the [Acceptable Use Policy](/en/legal/aup).
* You may not reverse-engineer the service or attempt to bypass its safety and billing mechanisms.
* You may not use service output to train models that compete with ruoli.

## Account responsibility

* You must safeguard your API Keys and are responsible for all activity under your account.
* Losses from leaked Keys are your responsibility; rotating Keys periodically is recommended.

## Fees and billing

* You pay the prices published by the platform. See [Billing & Top-Up](/en/platform/billing).
* Fees arising from your own changes (switching groups, misusing models) are generally non-refundable.
* Service may be suspended when your account is in arrears or quota is exhausted.

## Changes and termination

* ruoli may adjust, upgrade, or discontinue the service; material changes will be announced in advance.
* You may stop using the service at any time. ruoli may terminate immediately if continuing to provide the service becomes unlawful.

## Disclaimer and limitation of liability

* The service is provided "as is", with no warranty on the availability, stability, or output of upstream models.
* To the extent permitted by law, ruoli is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages; aggregate liability is capped at the fees you paid in the preceding 12 months.

## Export controls and sanctions

You may not use the service in violation of applicable export controls and sanctions, including providing the service to sanctioned persons or entities.

## Updates to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with the effective date. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
